This is 40
Turning 40: The 5 Things I’m Doing as a Mom of 3 little ones, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner for over a decade and Business Owner x3
This year, I turn 40….I know y’all thought I was like FOREVER 28 but I’m actually turning 40 this year and going to PARIS…just wait for the fits I have picked out already. Planning on buying something vintage I can pass down to my daughter while I am in Paris so already on the lookout for that. I’m really having a vintage moment these days, maybe because I am turning vintage…I’m thinking something like this..
and a lot of this while in Pareeeee
I should be way more emotionally concerned about this milestone but ya girl just lets it allllll happen! Running three businesses ( Our Denver location actually turns 9 years old this next month!!!) while raising three kids means my time is limited, but prioritizing my health and longevity isn’t optional—it’s essential for me to keep going and it requires a lot of energy as you can imagine because I still see patients in my Denver clinic. I’ve been working in aesthetics for almost 15 years which is BANANAS. I now am injecting people’s grandkids which good gosh… definitely solidifies that im turning 40!!!
I have learned to be a lot more intentional and shield myself from a lot thanks to a team of people who do a lot for me, supplements and treatments that don’t ever get missed.
Here are the five things I’m focusing on as I turn 40 to feel my absolute best:
1. NAD+ for Energy, Brain Power & Longevity
If you haven’t looked into NAD+ therapy, it’s a game-changer. As we age, our NAD+ levels drop, impacting energy, metabolism, and even cognitive function. I’ve been incorporating NAD+ nasal spray to boost cellular repair, improve focus (hello, mom brain!), and keep my energy levels up while balancing business and family. Don’t get me wrong, you will still catch me drinking coffee, running on empty a lot because im just kind of a tired person lol but I can’t imagine where I would be if I didn’t have this in my system.
2. Peptides for Skin, Sleep & Recovery
Peptides have become my go-to for better sleep, muscle recovery, and glowing skin. From CJC-1295/Ipamorelin for improved growth hormone production to BPC-157 for muscle and gut healing, these tiny proteins are making a massive impact on how I feel and recover. I’m also using topical hair peptides with my secret sauce that I have worked hard with a pharmacist to support hair health—because who has time for thinning hair at 40? Not me…I’ve got a good 10 years in me of not letting anything slip. I might become a little obsessed this year as I approach 40. I believe that all the peptides micro dosed can pull out massive inflammation and I view them as my life long supplements. No intentions of going “off” any of them as I personally use them in such small doses and that is how I prescribe all treatments as well. I am known for being conservative and plan to stay that way.
3. Laser Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation
I’ve always invested in skincare bc its my job, but this year, I’m stepping it up with laser treatments to boost collagen, even out skin tone, and keep my skin looking fresh. Really upping the body treatments, think neck/chest, that arm skin and laxity in my a$$. I’ve got my eye on a lot of Korean skincare products coming to market and I will share my plans with those soon. Treatments like Tixel, BBL, and scluptra are my go-to for keeping my skin healthy and glowing while minimizing fine lines and sun damage. Still love my neurotoxin treatments quarterly. I recently started the Salmon Sperm (polynucleotides) journey for my undereyes for laxity and I’m one session in and definitely a fan. I’ll show a video soon. This treatment is recommended once a month for three months to tighten that annoying area that we all hate around the eyes.
Also, upping my neurotoxin treatment in terms of areas that I am treating. I now treat my lower face and do a neck lift with the tox to help keeps things high and tight. I inject along my hairline now in my forehead to give a massive brow lift and these are all new things I’ve added in to help me look and feel my best.
4. Strength Training: Lifting Heavy & Staying Strong
After years of playing sports I definitely know what my body responds too and that is more on the weights side. I’m lifting heavy weights and focusing on strength, mobility, and longevity. As a college athlete, my muscle memory for certain parts of my body is kind of crazy so I definitely respond better to lifting and more athletic types of movement than I do other things. Lifting has not only reshaped my body, but it’s also helped with hormone balance, bone density, and stress relief. Plus, being strong just feels amazing—inside and out. I don’t do this on my own…I have MAJOR decision fatigue so I basically need it planned out for me and I don’t want to have to ever think about my workout and thats why I go to Sweat Den 4 times a week, one day of hot pilates at HAVN pilates, and play basketball with my little 6 year old stud….He got his mama and daddy’s genetics (watch out world)!!! I also take these amino acids daily after my workouts sometimes I will add in more creatine.
5. Prioritizing Recovery & Stress Management
With three kids and three businesses, stress is unavoidable, but how I manage it is within my control. Never been someone who skimps on sleep so that one is always easy for me because again, I really like naps and I go to bed at 8:30 every night. Lol Im such a grandma and my husband is the complete opposite. I do all the things all these other basic girls do…..but I only do the ones that actually move the needle for me because I don’t have enough damn time to just be workin on my wellness all day. So the ONLY things that actually do it for me are NAD nasal spray, sauna when I can (usually 2-3 times a week), and basically staying at home lol. My goal? More quality time with my family and sustainable energy for the long haul.
The Takeaway?
Aging isn’t about slowing down—it’s about optimizing and feeling better than ever. At 40, I’m stronger, sharper, and more intentional than I was at 30, and that’s by design…I’m lucky to be a board certified nurse practitioner and have Restorative Injectables as my playground to try and do all the treatments.
xoxo,
Tay
